Wi-Fi Engineering Services

With Wi-Fi the concepts can seem easy, but there is complexity to be considered. Winncom Engineering can assist in evaluating and calculating network design, propagation, and configuration to ensure the success of these projects.

Once the design is completed and a BoM created, our Engineering Team can ease the process of integration by prestaging to save time in the field. From basic software upgrades to more in depth pre-configuration, as well as kitting and labeling.

Preliminary Design of WLAN / Wi-Fi Network

Information Required

  • Rough estimate of square footage of the building
  • Building address
  • Structure of the building (office, warehouse, etc.), floorplan
  • Depiction of where walls are
  • Frequency band preferred
  • Preferred manufacturer

Outcome

  • Basic BoM (Bill of Materials) based upon a size and structure of the building
  • Level 1 estimate
  • Basic AP placement (if applicable)

  • Word, Visio

WPSS-WIFI-DSG-Full – Full Design of WLAN / Wi-Fi Network

Information Required

  • Building address
  • Floorplan with scale and floor count (if outdoor: map with scale and network boundaries)
  • Per AP user count
  • Per user capacity
  • Desired coverage areas (indoor/outdoor, meeting rooms, social areas, etc.)
  • Mounting preferences (internal hallways, external hallways, street lights, in room, etc.)
  • Desired signal strength for all areas if known (if not will typically design for -65 dBm)
  • MDF and IDF closet locations if available

Outcome

  • Complete BoM (Bill of Materials)
  • AP count and placement
  • Heatmap

WPSS-WIFI-SURV-PD – WLAN / Wi-Fi Site Survey

Information Required

  • Address of the location
  • Building floorplan with scale and indication of required coverage areas
  • Per AP user count
  • Per user capacity
  • Contact person who will assist during site walk
  • Scheduled date/time for the site walk
  • Desired signal strength for all areas if known (if not will typically design for -65 dBm)
  • MDF and IDF closet locations if available

Outcome

  • Complete BoM (Bill of Materials)
  • Detailed design (updated with onsite findings) showing AP count and placement
  • Heatmap
  • Site Survey Report
